I was thinking about quite a few things today...
One of those things being God's light.
A few of us went to Aaron's house today for a meeting and he mentioned something interesting. We were all talking about how we wanted to be the light to people in the youth group just like the seniors and other graduated people had and have been to us. I don't know about any of you guys, but I've always held high esteem to the graduated seniors...but then Aaron gave us a thought.
In a few years, when I'm graduated, there will be people in the very room we sat in saying about how they want to be the light to Altaer in a way that I was to them...or Jonathan was...or Keith was...
It's just an interesting idea. We look up so much to these older figures, but we never stop and think that we are that to someone right now. It makes me kind of nervous at times, because I don't know what kind of things I am giving people to look up to. If that makes sense.
Because it does to me. ;)
But at the same time, I am also excited for this year as an older figure of Altaer. The responsibility is there, yes, but I also genuinely desire to see Altaer thrive. I want people to be forever changed by relationships they build here. I guess all I can do at this point is lean into God and His promises, and realize that through my weakness he can use me for something so much greater than anything I ever thought I'd be a part of.
Pretty amazing, huh?

i know the feeling quite well. i kind of was freaked out when i became one of the seniors at altaer because i had always looked up to them, and wasn't sure if i could fill that roll. but you already are such a light there, and i'm excited for the way you will continue to impact everyone.
